Omega 3, 6, 9 are known as essential fatty acid (EFA). As the name suggests, they are known as essential nutrients for a good health as they are mostly involved in brain stimulation, heart health, and neural tissues.
   
Omega-3, amongst the other Omega present in Naturefirm Omega-S™, is referred medically as alpha- linolenic acid (ALA). ALA has been attributed to lower triglycerides and improve HDL levels (High Density Lipoproteins, the good cholesterol) in human studies. Moreover, for those who have an elevated LDL (Low Density Lipoproteins, the bad cholesterol), sufficient intake of Omega-3 has been linked in the prevention of calcification of atherosclerosis plaque in arteries. Those plaques sometimes get deposited across the lining of arteries and when calcified can partially or completely block arteries leading to minimal or stop in blood flow, that might result in the development of acute myocardial infarction.

Additionally, proper consumption of Omega-3 of natural flaxseed oil origin (ALA) has been shown to lower the incidence of non-fatal acute myocardial infarction as per new studies recently published.
 
In fact, flax seed tops the list in terms of the amount of Omega-3 present amongst all seeds. However, boiling flaxseed in order to extract the Omega present actually destroy the Omega present, as it becomes inactive as at nearly 60 ºC.
